spent 24 hours seeing New York City from Becky’s point of view, the California native had no trouble finding her footing, flitting from the boxing gym to a sneaker-heavy shopping trip.
Extra Butter on Orchard Street is Becky’s haunt of choice for what she calls “treat yourself, you are worth it”-level kicks, but even when she’s indulging, she never strays far from her roots. “Growing up Latina, my culture has played a really big part in my fashion,” Becky says, citing her mom as her ultimate fashion inspiration—curly hair, oversized jeans and all.
Once the urge to splurge has been satisfied, it’s time for dinner with the Becky G team at Katsuya in Hudson Yards, which she sees as an opportunity to celebrate the people who “make sure that every T is crossed and every I is dotted.” Salsa dancing is on the menu, but first, everyone has to disclose how many drinks they’ll need to get them in the dancing mood. Becky, for one, is ready to go, quipping, “I can salsa dance sober.
