Viewers of 24 Hours in A&E had to turn off their TVs after seeing one of the most horrific injuries in the programme's history. The Channel 4 programme is based at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham for its 29th series - the first time it has been filmed outside of London.
Nurse Lou Davis, who has worked in the department for 32 years, said it was possibly one of the "grimmest" injuries she had ever seen. As the episode aired, Twitter exploded when Kirsty's injury appeared on screen. @sharonmcteir: "Holy crap! It’s rare I struggle look at something in real life or tv but I might have reached my limit."@cunning_chops added: "Just turned on 24 hours in A&E and had the misfortune to see that girl’s foot hanging together with a small piece of skin. I am TRAUMATISED!"
