AMG's next E 53 has been spotted in its wagon body style.
AMG's redesigned E 53 sedan
have previously been spotted and now we have fresh spy shots of the car's wagon body style. A video also shows prototypes for both body styles. The new E 53 should arrive as a 2024 model, though only the sedan is likely to make it to the U.S. The current E 53 wagon was never offered in the U.S. but theStrangely, prototypes for a redesigned AMG E 63 haven't been spotted, perhaps indicating the nameplate's next iteration may be delayed or possibly even dropped as AMG focuses on aThe performance wheel and tire combo, as well as the large brakes and four round exhaust tips give this prototype away as the E 53.
What still isn't clear is the powertrain AMG plans for the E 53. Rumors point to the car running a 3.0-liter turbo-6 in combination with a mild-hybrid system. The same setup delivers 429 hp inThe same rumors point to a new E 63 coming, but with a plug-in hybrid powertrain built around a 3.0-liter turbo-6. The outgoing E 63 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 delivering 603 hp.
