Voter totals will only rise next week, and not only from mail-in ballots, which must be received by local elections offices no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day (Nov. 8).
More than 1.4 million Democrats who requested mail-in ballots have not turned them in. Less than a million Republican-requested ballots haven’t been turned in. In all, 1,043,953 voters have mailed their ballots.
Those who have sent in mail-in ballots represent only a small portion of the nearly 14.5 million Floridians who are eligible to vote. Of those, according to late , nearly 5.3 million are Republicans, almost 5 million are Democrats, around 4 million are unaffiliated and the rest are third-party voters.voted by mail. Democrats cast the most vote-by-mail ballots in Florida, with around 2.2 million followed by Republicans with more than 1.5 million, no party affiliation voters with 1.1 million and voters with other party affiliations casting more 66,000 ballots.
In the U.S. Senate race, Republican incumbent Sen. Marco Rubio is ahead of Democrat U.S. Rep. Val Demings, 48%-42%. Only 7% surveyed said they were undecided.
