We were given the opportunity to drive the range-topping PHEV 225. Although the official electric-only range is 34 miles, we'd expect to get closer to 25 miles in real-world driving conditions.
Mercifully, when the 178bhp petrol engine and 109bhp motor are working in unison, the C5X feels genuinely sprightly, and the official 0-62mph time is 7.8sec. That’s quite a bit quicker than the similarly priced Kuga PHEV and Santa Fe PHEV .
