The teens admitted that that they purposely lit a Christmas tree inside a nearby drainage culvert on fire, investigators said.

Their guilty pleas and sentencings were not announced by the office until Monday as the teens’ attorneys argued against having them named publicly in motions that were only decided by the court in the juveniles’ favor late last month, officials said. Therefore, they were only identified by their initials and ages of 15 and 14.
