An 18-year-old man was killed in a shooting Monday, the city's 135th homicide of the year.
Henrick Lopez was found by Columbus Division of Police patrol officers around 8:30 p.m. after they responded to the area of West Broad Street and Wilson Road on Columbus' West Side. He was unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.Lopez and the older man, whom police did not identify in a news release, were both taken to nearby hospitals but Lopez succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 9:19 p.m.
The 23-year-old man is expected to recover from his injuries, police said in the release, and investigators are attempting to determine the circumstances of the shooting. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Columbus Police Homicide Unit at 645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 461-TIPS .
