The cause of death for Audrii Cunningham, who was at the center of a statewide Amber Alert before her body was found in the Trinity River, was confirmed to be blunt head trauma.
Nearly two days after Audrii Cunningham's body was found in the Trinity River, the medical examiner's office confirmed that she died from blunt head trauma.
Investigators found the 11-year-old's body six days after the Amber Alert notified Texans of her disappearance. On Thursday, the medical examiner's office said Audrii died from homicidal violence including blunt head trauma. Officials did not provide further information.Don Steven McDougal was first named as a primary person of interest in the case and later a suspect in her murder.
