Is this movie straight-up awful? I am almost certain of it. Have I watched it many times? Yes, I have. Have I watched it in the last 15 years? No. Absolutely not, nor will I. As a tween, I remember, a film about a bunch of high schoolers who get magic watches that allow them to pause time, being THE SHIT. I wanted one of those watches so bad! I wanted to be able to move water droplets coming out of sprinklers. I wanted to be able to put a peeing dog on the hood of a nemesis's car.
I wanted to be able to steal food off someone's plate without them noticing. The whole concept was just so remarkable for my brain, and is one I think about regularly. The movie itself, however, would I'm sure buckle under scrutiny. It has aon Rotten Tomatoes, doesn't star a single person I've ever heard of, and was produced by Nickelodeon.
