Buying gift cards from small businesses that are closed, or self-employed people who can’t work right now, is a great way to help them stay afloat through the current wave of panic—and gives you a treat to look forward to whenever things go back to normal. Some cities have organized resources like, a one-stop shop for buying gift certificates and making donations to multiple local businesses, but you can also hit up your favorite coffeeshop, yoga class, or massage therapist directly.
