The Daily Record has decided to journey back 60 years in time to the 1960s, to take a look at some of the objects that you likely would have found in a Scottish home.
It is easy to forget just how much things have changed in Scotland in just a short amount of time.
One of the best ways to get a glimpse into what life was really like back then is actually by taking a look at what Scots would have had around the house. With no crystal displayMeanwhile, as anybody who grew up in the 60s will tell you, keeping yourself entertained wasn't as simple as watching a movie on your iPhone or playing a game on your Nintendo Switch. Instead, kids back then had toys like Scalextric sets and Troll dolls to play with.
It's true that a lot of Scottish families still have a sewing machine somewhere around the house, but chances are it looks a fair bit different to how it would have done in the 1960s. While these didn't have all the bells and whistles of today's machines, they were still plenty capable of repairing a rip in a pair of trousers.These days, most homes have a smart speaker or maybe a CD player to listen to music. However, back in the 1960s, hi-fi systems were all the rage.
