The Power Rangers’ costumes can make or break a Power Rangers show, and there are a few redesigns that belong in the list of worst Power Rangers suits. From Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to the upcoming Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, the Power Rangers universe has seen dozens of different costumes. Most of those originate from the Super Sentai series, although a few of them were crafted exclusively for Power Rangers.
A lot of the Green Ranger’s scenes in Mighty Morphin season 2 were original American footage, which can be noticed by the much-less-impressive chest armor. A similar problem happened with the White Ranger’s suit in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers season 3, during which most of the action sequences were from original American footage. In fact, the White Ranger was based on a different Super Sentai entirely, Gosei Sentai Dairanger.
7 Power Rangers Turbo Suits Gekisou Sentai Carranger’s suits had an interesting concept behind them – each helmet looked like the front of a car. However, as much as it was in brand for Power Rangers Turbo’s suits to look like a car, these costumes were just not as cool as the ones from Power Rangers Zeo. The transition from Power Rangers Zeo to Power Rangers Turbo was not well handled, especially because it was never explained why the Zeo powers had to be abandoned.
Rita Repulsa’s costume in Power Rangers lacked details and seemed more like a damaged Green Ranger suit than an actual Rita suit. Of course, this Rita Repulsa was once the Green Ranger, but her new costume could have brought something different. In the original Power Rangers canon, Rita Repulsa is an intergalactic witch.
