Liverpool has once again been overlooked by the Michelin star restaurant guide, despite the city’s wealth of incredible food outlets.

The French-based group award establishments stars based on on food quality, cooking techniques, value and consistency. Some Merseyside and Lancashire restaurants did make the cut this year.Fraiche in Birkenhead retained its one Michelin star, as did The Barn in Aughton. Moor Hall has two stars and now Sō–Lō in Aughton joined them as it celebrated a one Michelin star.
