The Super Mario Bros. Movie features lots of the franchise's characters, but not all. These characters should appear in Super Mario Bros. Movie 2.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie included several beloved Nintendo characters and Super Mario Easter eggs, but unfortunately, some iconic characters were left by the wayside and should appear in The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2. Illumination’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie follows Mario’s quest to rescue Luigi and help Princess Peach defeat Bowser after Mario and Luigi fall down a green pipe that warps them to the Mushroom Kingdom. While the Super Mario Bros.
Princess Daisy already has so many potential storylines, making her a perfect character addition to The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2. Daisy has close relationships with other Super Mario Bros. characters who made it into the first Super Mario Bros. Movie, meaning she’ll fit well into the established cast. In particular, Princess Daisy has often served as a love interest for Luigi, so her inclusion could help Luigi shine more after Luigi was absent for much of the first movie.
8 Yoshi One of the most surprising omissions from The Super Mario Bros. Movie is Mario’s dinosaur-like companion, Yoshi. His allyship to Mario and Luigi is a frequent fixture of the Super Mario Bros. franchise, making his inclusion a must in the sequel movie. Outside of being Mario’s frequent companion and transportation, Yoshi also has an important role as the protagonist of his own games, meaning The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 could potentially visit Yoshi’s Island.
5 Waluigi There can’t be Wario without Waluigi, meaning the latter’s inclusion is a must for The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2. Similar to Wario, Waluigi serves as a rude foil to the more mild-tempered Luigi in the Super Mario Bros. franchise. Though Waluigi is typically used more for comic relief, he is a constant companion of Wario, which means he definitely needs to appear alongside his friend in the sequel movie.
