Pokémon 151 adds ex abilities to classics.
Pokemon TCG's latest expansion, Scarlet & Violet - 151 brings original Pokémon from the Kanto region up to date with refreshed gameplay mechanics of Scarlet & Violet, including the ex variant abilities, some of which are fetching decent prices on the resell market. While these characters can evoke memories for those who played back when the original 151 was all there was, they also can prove to be very useful when brought to the table.
9 Jynx ex 124/165 Jynx ex is a basic card, number 124/165 for Pokémon 151, that has two attacks that work well together. The Heart-Stopping Kiss attack can instantly knock out an opponent's Active Pokémon if it is Asleep, which not only could be caused by the Icy Wind attack that Jynx ex has, or could be paired up nicely with another card with this ability. The Hypno card that is also in 151, for example, would make this a strong offensive card.
7 Venusaur ex 003/165 Pokémon 151's Venusaur ex has an incredible 340 HP to withstand damage and also features an ability to heal. Using the Tranquil Flower ability, if Venusaur ex is in the Active Spot then it can be used to heal 60 damage from one Pokémon each turn. Though it isn't the best card, its healing buff ability and high HP can create a great distraction for opponents and also can keep Venusaur on the table for quite a while.
5 Alakazam ex 065/165 After Kadabra had been banned for many years, its evolved form of Alakazam ex is making a statement with its return in Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet - 151. Alakazam ex is a Stage 2 Pokémon with a unique attack, Dimensional Hand, that does 120 damage and can be used even if Alakazam is on the Bench. This allows for lots of strategic combinations by not requiring Alakazam to be Active to be played. On TCGPlayer, Alakazam ex 065/165 has a market price of $3.
