If House Bill 3 passes, Texas will provide funding for public and private partnerships to help protect the youngest students with armed officers providing school security.

19 students and 2 teachers were killed in the shooting at Robb Elementary School on May 24, 2022. President Biden addressed the shooting and changes he wants to see to prevent another.

"The goal is clearly to have security at every school in Texas. The elementary schools are the ones where the security is not there," Spurgeon said. "We are here to be a partner with our community and to keep it safe, and our chief is behind our effort 100%," said Tracy Carter with Fort Worth PD.
