While the Back to the Future franchise barely touched on real-life events, one Back to the Future Part III scene is shockingly historically accurate.
While the Back to the Future trilogy is hardly historically accurate, there is one bizarre Back to the Future Part III joke that finds its basis in real-life events. The Back to the Future franchise is not particularly grounded. As far as sci-fi movies featuring time travel go, the events of Back to the Future might be marginally less absurd than the adventures of Bill and Ted, but they are still a lot less plausible and grounded than the more self-serious Terminator franchise.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY While Back to the Future itself is infamously full of plot holes, Back to the Future Part III might be the most egregiously absurd offender in the series. Not only does Back to the Future Part III’s gasoline plot hole threaten to derail the sequel’s story, but almost every detail of the movie’s imagined Wild West is even more heightened and cartoonish than the classic Westerns that inspired the setting.
