One person was injured Tuesday in an East Anchorage house fire that significantly damaged the home, a city fire official said.
Anchorage firefighters responded to structure fire at a residence off Defiance Street in East Anchorage on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Firefighters called to the 3900 block of Defiance Street around 11:45 a.m. had controlled the blaze about a half-hour later, said Assistant Chief Alex Boyd with the Anchorage Fire Department.
One person was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition, Boyd said. It was not immediately clear if the person lived in the home, he said. Fourteen units responded to the residence, including fire trucks, ambulances and supervisors, Boyd said.
