The town is listed for sale for $100,000.A tiny ghost town in West Texas is looking for a new owner after a group of German friends purchased the town two decades ago.According to the, the 10-acre town comes with several former business buildings, including a grocery store and post office, motel, gas station and restaurant as well as a few other houses and structures.

In 2001, the group of friends bought Lobo and started to rebuild parts of the town. For the next two decades, they would use the property to host several art, short film and music events. Now, they say they are too old to maintain the land and want to pass it on, according to the property listing. Lobo put itself on the map after the discovery of the nearby Van Horn Wells — a crucial, rare source of fresh water in the area, according to the property website.

From 1850 to 1860, Lobo was a stop on the mail route from San Antonio to San Diego, before becoming a watering stop and depot for the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1882. The first settlers of the town named it Lobo in a nod to the wolves that wreaked havoc there. In 1914, Lobo had 20 residents, according to the
