Uvalde's school superintendent said a state trooper who roughly handled the mother of one of the Robb Elementary victims was doing his job — preventing someone without authorization from entering an elementary school.

a state trooper who roughly handled the mother of one of the 19 students killed in a May 24 mass shootingThe altercation took place April 5, a day of walk-outs at schools in Uvalde and across the country to protest the lack of legislative action on gun control. “If you look at the footage ... I’m not going to say anything bad about the mom because it appears that we had a parent in distress," Patterson said during a Express-News Editorial Board meeting on Thursday."OK, and you had an officer there to prevent exactly what the parent wanted to do."
“And so now we’re talking about an incident that got national attention where a trooper was trying to prevent a distressed parent from doing something that our policies say that nobody can do, and he has to prevent that. And, so, it escalates.”, the Texas Department of Public Safety officer stood forced Ana Coronado, whose daughter, Maite Rodriguez, died in the massacre, out of a Flores Elementary School hallway.
" yelled out as she left, saying, 'When your daughter is murdered on school grounds then you can talk to me, sir,'” he said.
