Scott recently nabbed an endorsement from the Club for Growth for his 2024 reelection bid, but Trump decried the group's backing as the"kiss of death" and implored Scott to fight to safeguard those entitlement programs.“Bad news for Senator Rick Scott of Florida! Club for NO Growth just announced they are going to back him, and without my backing them, an Endorsement from them is the kiss of death,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
“Be careful, Rick, and most importantly, fight for Social Security and Medicare. THERE WILL BE NO CUTS!” Trump added. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has been adamant that cuts to Social Security and Medicare are not on the table for the GOP. The Club for Growth endorsed Scott touting his"fiscal responsibility" while bashing"establishment Republicans like Leader McConnell" for mischaracterizing some of his ideas. McConnell has ripped Scott's 12-Point Plan as a"bad idea."
