Not only that, but both the TMNT and the X-Men are shunned by human society.
TMNT’s Raphael & Donatello Partner With X-Men’s Wolverine & Gambit In Fanart In two Instagram posts by user Dan Hipp , the artist shares two separate pieces of fanart featuring two members of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their accompanying X-Men.
Matching these Ninja Turtles with their X-Men partners only reinforced the similarities between the two teams. They both consist of mutant teenagers who battle evil and save the very people who persecute them on a daily basis, and as shown in these pieces of fanart, they also sometimes wield eerily similar weapons while doing so.
While there may not be any official TMNT and X-Men crossovers planned in the near future, it’s clear that - if one does happen anytime soon - it should feel like this artwork. Sure, both series have dark undertones that deal with heavy topics, but the main takeaway from both is always the optimism and heroism these mutant teams represent, which is why the fact that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the X-Men joyously teaming up in this fanart is absolutely perfect.
