Though it wasn't as well known as Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Saban Entertainment's VR Troopers was a fun show with many great episodes.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT When it comes to forgotten live-action superhero shows, none are quite as fascinating as Saban Entertainment's 1990s series, VR Troopers.
VR Troopers follows three young teenage karate students named Ryan Steele , Kaitlin Star , and JB Reese . One day, they discover a strange laboratory, and there the digital head of Professor Hart explains that he and Ryan's father created advanced virtual reality technology. However, that technology opened a portal to a dimension called "VR" which the evil creature Grimlord wants to use to invade Earth.
The first and second-ever episodes of VR Troopers also happen to be some of the best in the series as both not only do an excellent job setting up all the main characters but also establish the basic lore that occurs throughout the rest of the show. In these first two episodes Ryan, Kaitlin, and JB discover the mysterious lab that used to belong to Ryan's father, along with the digital head of Professor Hart who explains about Grimlord.
Suddenly, Grimlord sends Air Striker and Fighterbot, as well as an army of skugs, to attack the lab. In response, Professor Hart gives the trio the technology to become the VR Troopers, and while they are able to defend the lab and defeat the enemies, the war has only begun. Professor Hart stresses that they must continue improving their martial arts skills, and the trio agrees to serve as Earth's defenders against Grimlord and his army.
