Not much was revealed about Eddie Munson’s father in Stranger Things season 4, but that’s not the case in the in-universe prequel story.

While Joseph Quinn joined the Stranger Things cast for the 2022 season, the only other Munson character to appear was Eddie's uncle, Wayne. Eddie was already living with his uncle in a local Hawkins trailer park by the time of Vecna's attacks in 1986.
Al Munson's Stranger Things Backstory Explained Events Of Eddie Munson's Early Life Through 1984 The events of Stranger Things: Flight of Icarus occur in 1984, two years before season 4. Eddie, of course, is already a senior at Hawkins High before needing to repeat multiple times, but he's still living at the Munson family home.
The robbery works, and Eddie is elated to acquire money to leave Hawkins for LA for his record deal audition. However, the two men who drove the truck link the stolen goods back to Al, who was previously the drug kingpin's right-hand man, something that he kept from Eddie. In reality, Flight of Icarus proves Al conned Eddie into helping steal from his boss, leading to the other associates burning the Munson house down.
