Stephen King recommends a star-studded psychological horror series as the perfect viewing for July, and it has a very personal connection for him.

Stephen King recommends an Apple TV+ series, Lisey's Story, as the perfect July viewing. In recent months, the legendary horror author has taken to social media to share some of his favorite television picks. Everything from the murder mystery Poker Face to the horror series From and the sci-fi hit Silo has received King's stamp of approval, but his latest choice is personal in more ways than one.

King recently mentioned to his Twitter followers that July would be a good job to binge Lisey's Story, a 2021 miniseries from Apple TV+ that is based on the 2006 novel of the same name by King. SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT King's tweet reads, "July might be a good time to binge LISEY'S STORY, on Apple+. All episodes directed by Pablo Larrain all written by me." Larrain is known for directing the 2016 film Jackie, led by Natalie Portman, in addition to 2021's Spencer, which starred Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana.

What To Know About Lisey's Story Consisting of eight episodes, the adaptation of Lisey's Story follows Lisey Landon two years after the death of her husband, famous novelist Scott Landon . A number of unsettling events cause Lisey to face memories of her marriage to Scott that she has deliberately blocked from her mind.

Lisey's Story, which also stars Joan Allen, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Dane DeHaan, Sung Kang, Michael Pitt, and Ron Cephas Jones, is deeply personal to King. He got the inspiration for the novel when he was in the hospital because of a bout with pneumonia. His home office had been cleared for painting and renovating. He'd return later to find many of his belongings, including his books, in boxes.
