When Squid Game: The Challenge premieres, viewers can expect to see contestants compete against each other in the exact same games seen on Squid Game.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Netflix has released the official trailer for the upcoming reality competition series Squid Game: The Challenge, which promises to deliver high-stakes drama that recreates some of the iconic challenges seen on the scripted series. Squid Game, a Korean-language dystopian drama, was released in September 2021 on Netflix and became a huge hit. Squid Game season 2 reportedly began filming over the summer.
The Squid Game: The Challenge season 1 trailer has now been released by Netflix. The preview starts off with the contestants entering the room where they will be sleeping and hanging out in between challenges. They seem really excited at first, but that's all about to change as they dive into recreations of the games seen on the scripted Netflix series, starting with the most famous one of all: Red Light Green Light, complete with the giant robot doll that eliminates players.
As the Squid Game: The Challenge trailer continues, one of the contestants can be heard saying, "This is a savage game." Another player is hit in the chest by the giant robot doll and calmly exclaims, "Oh, s***." The workers, who wear red outfits and black masks with white circles and squares, come face to face with the contestants, who are shocked to see who's entering their living quarters. Other games featured in the trailer include Sugar Honeycombs and Marbles.
What To Expect From Squid Game: The Challenge It's common for reality show contestants to become friends and make alliances, despite competing against each other, and Squid Game: The Challenge is no different. The trailer shows some of the players hugging, but one of them acknowledges in a voiceover that he will still "double-cross" his opponents. Someone else notes they can't trust each other.
While the contenders on Squid Game: The Challenge won't actually die , there have been some troubling reports about the upcoming reality show. Earlier in the year, Netflix came under fire for allegedly putting the Squid Game: The Challenge contestants into inhumane conditions during filming. There were also allegation some of the games were rigged in favor of certain players. While these reports are disturbing, claims like these tend to come with the territory for reality TV. But with a $4.
