A family member confirmed the video clips shows part of the police stop in Prince Albert that left Boden Umpherville seriously injured.
The videos appear to show a residential neighbourhood at night, with police lights illuminating the area.
An officer can be heard yelling “you’re gonna get tased” and someone appears to leave the car on the driver’s side. An officer can be heard yelling “I’m gonna tase him” before police yell “taser, taser, taser,” before the distinct sound of stun gun fire can be heard.Officers can then be heard yelling at each other to back up and at someone inside the vehicle to get out. Someone else appears to get out on the rear passenger side and go to stand with the other person on the sidewalk.
An April 4 media release about the incident said a man was found to be in “medical distress” after he was in taken into custody and paramedics arrived at the scene. A report published by CBC Saskatoon over the weekend quoted an unnamed person identified as the vehicle’s registered owner saying they were in the vehicle at the time of the incident and did not report it stolen. Postmedia has not spoken with the driver.
