Russia's economy isn't facing disaster anytime soon as weapons production compensates for GDP losses, Ukrainian strategist says
. Klymenko — the head of the Ukrainian monitoring group at the Institute for Black Sea Strategic Studies — pointed out that economists have had to admit they were wrong in their predictions for a total collapse in Russia's gross domestic product over the last year.
"This compensated for the GDP losses from the sanctions," Klymenko said, adding that the economy has also seen unemployment dip to its lowest point in years given that many citizens have joined the armed forces.

Russian Official Blames Ukrainian Drones as Huge Fire Engulfs Crimean Oil DepotA Russia-appointed official in Crimea says a massive fire erupted at an oil depot there after it was hit by two Ukrainian drones. The Moscow-installed governor of the port city of Sevastopol posted videos and photos of the blaze on his Telegram channel on Saturday. Two more drones were destroyed over Crimea, the peninsula’s Russia-appointed governor said. Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014 in a move that most of the world considered illegal. The oil reservoir fire comes a day after Russia fired more than 20 cruise missiles and two drones at Ukraine, killing at least 23 people. Moscow’s forces also are bracing for an expected Ukrainian counteroffensive.

Francis said during an airborne press conference Sunday en route home from Hungary that he's “available to do anything.” He added, “There’s a mission that’s not public that’s underway; when it’s public I’ll talk about it.” Deportations of Ukrainian children have been a concern since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began. Francis said the Holy See had already helped mediate some prisoner exchanges and would do “all that is humanly possible” to reunite families.
