People aged between 50 and 64 can now access booked their Covid autumn booster jabs online or over the phone. From Friday, October 14, thousands of people across the county will be able to book their jab.
In just over a month, more than 150,000 people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire have already booked their autumn booster jab and plenty more have walked in for their jab. There are more than 50 sites available across the county, which include at GP sites, pharmacies and at larger venues. There are also two large vaccination centres offering booked and walk in appointments at The Courtaulds Building on Haydn Road, Sherwood and at Ashfield Health Village, Kirkby in Ashfield. Local health leaders are urging those eligible to book their Covid and flu jabs so that they can get protected against the ‘twindemic’ of flu and covid this winter.
“The vaccines are being offered to those who need them the most because it is important we make sure our immunity against these illnesses is topped up, so please do book your jab as soon as you can.” Those eligible for an autumn Covid booster also include residents and staff in care homes for older adults, frontline health and social care workers, people aged 5 to 49 who are in a clinical risk group or household contacts of people with immunosuppression. and people aged 16 to 49 that are carers.
