“Honestly, I would only have a mask on and a hoodie and I would only accept drop-it-at-my-door orders,” Young, who won the Heisman trophy in 2021, told ESPN at training camp on Tuesday. “For the most part, I never got recognized. “It was before NIL. I just wanted to have a little extra money.” The NCAA’s new NIL rules went into effect on July 1, 2021, allowing college players to be paid for their name, image and likeness throughout their college careers.
Young was one of the biggest beneficiaries of the rules changes, as the talented quarterback reportedly earned $3.5 million from deals from companies like Subway, Dr. Pepper and Nissan.He says he'd wear a mask and hoodie and only accept 'drop it at my door' orders so people wouldn't recognize him 😅
