Moreover, the economic benefits of the industry spread far and wide, supporting an additional 20,500 residents throughout San Diego County. Recent data collected by the San Diego Tourism Authority found that for every 100 restaurant jobs, an additional 30 jobs are supported in partnering industries, and that every $1 spent in our local restaurants and drinking places generates an additional 78 cents spent in the broader San Diego economy.
