Ohio State football's defense again effectively shut down a Big Ten opponent at Wisconsin.
Jack Sawyer admitted a few moments of real concern when his helmet collided with J.T. Tuimoloau’s hip during a pivotal goal-line stand right before halftime. Tuimoloau was slow to get up and went to the sideline, but missed only one play.Ohio State’s defensive front keeps allowing fans to exhale even when the offense is not putting up prodigious point totals. Wisconsin closed the first half and opened the second with its only two scoring drives. On the other 10 drives, it totaled 139 yards.
Wisconsin’s first nine plays of that last drive of the first half covered 52 yards, setting up first and goal from the 1. The next three plays netted zero yards – including a would-be touchdown ruled down at the 2 because Skyler Bell’s knee touched the ground. 2. Denzel Burke returned from injury and immediately wanted to get in on the third-down clinic he missed the previous week. He twice made plays on third down that summoned Wisconsin punter Atticus Bertrams.
