The Nuggets (43-30) are back in the win column after losing two straight games and four of their previous six. Denver is clinging to the No. 6 playoff seed in the Western Conference with only nine games left in the regular season.
A 127-115 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night was punctuated with bevy of buckets at Ball Arena. Denver shot 54% from the floor as a team — including 50% from 3-point range — with reigning MVP Nikola Jokic nabbing an easy double-double: 30 points and 14 rebounds.
“We just played with more effort,” Morris said. “You are who you are at this point in the season. You know why you win and why you lose. … We’re really tough to defend when the ball is popping and everybody is having fun.” Reserve forward Terance Mann led Los Angeles with 24 points and eight rebounds off the bench. But the Nuggets simply couldn’t miss. The team entered halftime shooting 61% from the floor and 57% from 3-point range. Denver led 72-61 at the break.
The Nuggets — still without injured stars Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. — kept their starters intact vs. LA: Morris, Barton, Green, Gordon and Jokic.
