“The Mexican-American Experience” is a traveling exhibit from The First Division Museum at Cantigny Park in Wheaton that will be at the GAR Military Museum at 23 E. Downer Place beginning at noon Friday through Jan. 13, 2024.
The exhibit details the challenges and accomplishments of Mexican-American soldiers in the U.S. Army, museum officials said.
Initially displayed at the First Division Museum at Cantigny, the city of Aurora and the McCormick Foundation collaborated to bring the exhibit to Aurora, officials said.Admission to the museum is free, but donations are appreciated. The museum is open from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
