New coach Ime Udoka to serve as Rockets' representative at NBA draft lottery
When the Rockets discover their draft fate following Tuesday’s NBA draft lottery, the spotlight will be on the coach that will be charged with making the most out of whatever it brings.
Though his role will be far more ceremonial than almost everything that will follow in his job description, Udoka’s reaction will be front and center with the Rockets — along with the Detroit Pistons and San Antonio Spurs — bringing the best chances at landing the top pick and the right to draft center Victor Wembanyama.
The Rockets, Pistons and Spurs each have a 14 percent chance of getting the top pick and a 52.1 percent of remaining in the top four. The Rockets could fall as far as to the sixth pick.
