The New Jersey GOP filed suit in state Superior Court in Atlantic County on Thursday.
A New Jersey judge has frozen the bank account of a dark money group at the center of an election controversy overSuperior Court Judge Michael Blee froze the bank account of Jersey Freedom and its treasurer, Eric Peterson, and ordered the group to cease all spending and communication related to Tuesday’s general election.
“In the meantime, we urge voters to not be fooled by slick ads on Fox News or messages in mailboxes about fake conservatives,” Wilkes said. “They are liberal plants intended to ensure that Democrats stay in office.”Jersey Freedom, which has a Queens P.O. Box address, called on voters to support Libertarian candidate Shawn Peck over Republican state Sen.
Antoinette Miles, Interim State Director for New Jersey Working Families Party, applauded the court on Friday “for its swift action freezing spending from Jersey Freedom in the days leading up to a critical legislative election.” NJGOP General Counsel Jason Sena said Jersey Freedom has spent some $30,000 on what they describe as printing and postage, and the organization has yet to disclose any of its donors. He has called for a complete investigation of the group and said his party won’t stop until those behind it are held accountable.
