Missouri City Police Chief Mike Berezin has announced that May 19 will be his last day with the department. “It has been a privilege to represent such a fine organization of dedicated professionals," said Berezin, 57, who began his law enforcement career with the Missouri City department in 1989 as a patrol officer."I never lost sight that serving as the chief meant the professional welfare of all police department personnel was entrusted to me.
A plan to boost salary benefits for the city's officers was not addressed, he said,"and we are experiencing the greatest vacancy rate I have ever seen during my entire career.”
