KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysian influencer Rumaisyah Yahya was sentenced to one day in prison and fined RM400 for stealing supermarket goods.
The court also ruled that she will be required to serve a three-day prison sentence if she fails to pay the fine. The charge was filed under Section 380 of the Penal Code, which comes with a maximum imprisonment term of 10 years and a potential fine.During the trial, Deputy Public Prosecutor Sheryn Yong Shi Yee asked for the court to mete out a fitting punishment to serve as a lesson for the accused.
