Adia Nuño and her team of dancers are teaching and demonstrating at the festival. And, Nuño has a higher purpose: Get the dancers up onto the stage.

Nuño is there on Friday afternoon, microphone in hand, cowboy hat on head, boots scooting across the cement dance floor. She’s teaching about 25 BeachLife Ranch attendees a dance called Two Step to the song by the same name.The students laugh, some successful, some stumbling.
“It seems when artists and the writers are sharing their stories, they do it from a respectful position,” Nuño said. “It was ultimately a big feeling space for me,” Nuño said. “For the first time in my life, I would just dance as if no one was watching.” Line dancing can be addicting, said Rhonda Diamond, a teacher in Redondo Beach, who is familiar with Nuño and her work.
