Read the Express-News letters to the editor for April 8.

A sixth-grader knows firsthand how standardized testing isn’t the fullest measure of a student’s growth, potential or achievements.I believe that standardized testing should not be required. It takes away funding from schools that could be better used for new equipment. It also takes time away that could be better used for teaching students.

The tests also cause a lot of stress for the students and teachers. I don’t think these tests accurately measure how much the students grow, or how much they know. There are quite a lot of variables that can affect scores.

One would think that such services would be permanent and available to the millions of tourists that visit our great city.Let’s update “Make America Great Again” to “Make America like it was when I was 7.”
