The bandstand is one of the many reasons why Lakewood Park was recently recognized with a 2023 Great Places in Ohio award. Lakewood Park, the crown jewel of the community, recently received a 2023 Great Places in Ohio award from the Ohio Chapter of the American Planning Association .
The APA Ohio Planning & Great Places Awards is a biennial awards program honoring outstanding physical spaces planners have made permanent through careful planning and unbridled imagination in Ohio. The planning director said amenities and attractions include Foster Pool, a bandstand, baseball/softball fields, a skate park, pickleball courts, tennis courts and the Solstice Steps.
