College Park , tied for third in district play this year, advances to the area round for the fifth time in program history and awaits the winner of Saturday’s concluding game between Tomball and Cypress Ranch. “When you throw a fastball and two or three pitches for strikes, you’re going to be successful at the high school level,” College Park coach Mike Faherty said. “ had his fastball working and his slider working. It didn’t seem like they had much of an answer for it.”
College Park, which won five of its final six regular season games to clinch a playoff spot out of the nine-team district, has allowed just 1.4 runs per game in its past seven.
