Senior goalkeeper Jacob Chraca has been in fine form, extending his career and Lake Central’s season.
If the objective is ending on a high note, Lake Central senior Jacob Chraca is succeeding. Chraca has been in fine form in his second full season as the Indians’ No. 1 goalkeeper. “From last season to now, I’ve seen big improvements,” Lake Central’s Michael Miljevic said. “Me and Jake have played together for club and high school for the past five years, so I know him, and this year he’s peaked. It’s fantastic from him this season.
With the Indians clinging to a 2-1 lead with a little more than a minute left in the first half, Chraca made an especially outstanding stop on Gayton’s second free kick from just outside the penalty box. “What a great moment. ... That save, those are game-changing,” Lake Central coach Jereme Rainwater said. “If he doesn’t make that save, no one blames him. It’s a quality strike. But he makes the save.” The teams combined for three goals in the opening 13-plus minutes.
