An Indiana woman has returned to the Gulf Coast to say thank you to Orange Beach city officials.Kimberly Waterbury and her 9- year-old mother who passed away last November, spent five days on the Gulf Coast in 2021, because she wanted to spend time on the beach.
Waterbury says her mom was only able to touch the sand and water because of some dedicated Orange Beach workers and she wants the world to know just how amazing they and the city are. That's what she did, and the Orange Beach Surf Rescue lifeguards known as "Molly's Patrol" helped carry her from her condo to the beach and back over a 5-day period.
Molly's patrol was started to inform visitors of the dangers of rip currents along our local beaches. Not realizing this team would take it a step further and not only prevent drownings, but make people like Dottie's days much brighter.
