The worst crime Black Manta committed.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Fans everywhere online are fretting about the fate of Aquaman's son in the upcoming film, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. A look back at Black Manta's most infamous murder reveals why viewers think Arthur Curry, Jr. is destined to meet a grisly end.

The 2018 Aquaman movie was a smash hit that made cinematic history for the iconic Justice League member. For the last few years, a sequel to the King Beneath the Seas' cinematic adventure has been in development and fans finally got a look at the film in a trailer for the movie. The preview revealed that Arthur has had a son in the time since the events of the last movie.

Black Manta Killed Aquaman's Son to Drive Him to Murder The death of Aquaman's son took place in the epic storyline "Death of a Prince". The tragic event occurred in Adventure Comics #452 by David Michelinie and Jim Aparo. Black Manta has taken an underwater city hostage, intent on turning it into a kingdom of his own. Manta and his underlings overpower Aquaman and force him to fight his sidekick Aqualad to the death. Manta also reveals that he's kidnapped Arthur Curry, Jr.

Black Manta didn't initially kidnap Aquaman's son. It was actually Topo who stole the boy to help bring Aquaman's attention to a group of heroes known as the Idyllists, who were looking for Aqualad. But Black Manta was able to take Topo and Aquababy hostage to make sure Aquaman would do battle with his sidekick. Black Manta has always hated Aquaman to a ludicrous degree, and this was undeniably one of the worst things the villain ever did to Aquaman.

Black Manta Killing Aquaman's Son is DC's Darkest Moment Tragedy is an all-too-common occurrence in the lives of superheroes. The Aqua-Family has lost several members over the years . But killing a child is something that goes beyond mere tragedy and does nothing to serve the story other than make characters suffer. Fans looking forward to the new Aquaman movie have a right to be worried about whether the movie will feature Arthur's son dying.
