“I am vowing to never be as busy as I was before the pandemic, and most people I am close to are making the same vow,” said one of the many people responding to our call-out.
“Living through these challenging times, it would be easy to get mired in how awful life is. I have instead been focusing on all that I have to be grateful for. There is an abundance. Gratitude helps me to be humble and caring for others, another thing to be grateful for.”
“I am trying to life a simpler, less expensive life by trying to become more self-sufficient and appreciative of the effort it takes to produce anything. Gratitude has become a daily ritual because I have found that when I take the time to think about the things that I am grateful for, it enables me to see positivity in situations I would have previously seen as negative.”
“A group of women living in Huron learned to play mahjong during the pandemic. We love the game and will keep on playing. Also, our yoga instructor did a fabulous job of learning to do Zoom yoga for us. We’ve maintained and enhanced our friendships despite the trying times we had to deal with.”“Trapping, neutering and releasing feral cats. We got six, three still come around and we feed them and house them in our garage in Tupperware dens with straw in the winter.
“During the pandemic I found myself wasting days watching TV. I stopped watching in the morning and started reading a book. Today I am still TV-free in the mornings.”“I practiced some mixology during the time restaurants and bars were shut down. No one was going out and it was fun to learn about and make different cocktails.
