Montgomery beats Watchung Hills in battle of undefeated teams
Michael Schmelzer accounted for all four touchdowns -- three passing and one rushing -- throwing three scores for Matthew D’Avino.
Schmelzer thew a 31-yard touchdown pass to D’Avino in the first quarter to put the Cougars ahead 7-0. Schmelzer then ran the ball for a 19-yard score in the second, threw a 24-yard score in the third, and a 20-yard touchdown in the fourth. For Watchung Hills, Aleks Sitkowski tossed two scores in the air to Braden Fenton and David Dubas, and Jake Arakelian ran for a touchdown.
