Michigan City quarterback Tyler Bush’s performance against Lake Central on Friday was part of a resurgent season for him and the team.

“When me and him were both freshmen, I started freshman year, and what’s crazy is his first start was freshman year when we played against Lake Central.”Bush played against Lake Central for the final time Friday, and he scored his first three rushing touchdowns of the season, including a 1-yarder as time expired to cap Michigan City’s wild 27-24 Duneland Athletic Conference win in St. John.
Bush’s performance was part of a resurgent season for the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder. He entered the game having passed for 949 yards and eight touchdowns and having rushed for 152. He added to those totals by passing for 125 yards and rushing for 70 against the Indians . But last season was more of a struggle for Bush and for Michigan City, which went 2-8. He passed for 876 yards and seven TDs and ran for 77 yards and a score.
