In Hawaii, the maximum benefit payment is $356 for a household of one, $936 for a household of three, and $2,141 for a household of eight. After eight household members, the program supplies a maximum of $268 per additional household member.The average payment per household member per month is $178. Approximately 8% of the population, or 155,500 people, receive food stamps.
