Florida prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against a man accused of a premeditated murder of a lawyer who who representing defendants in a case he brought.
Plastic surgeon Tomasz Kosowski is accused of murdering attorney Steven Cozzi, who was representing his former practice in a lawsuit over billing practices.
Cozzi walked into his office minutes later, while Kosowski was allegedly lying in wait. At 10:22 a.m., the man believed to be Kosowski exited the building wearing a new outfit and"pulling behind him a large cart that appears to be heavy and have a red bag or blanket," the document alleges. Kosowski also passed a traffic camera while driving home from the office that caught a picture of"a red bag or blanket in a car that appeared to contain what resembles a human body located in the bed of the truck," according to police.
The Pinellas County State Attorney's office, citing the aggravating factors for seeking the death penalty, called the alleged murder ; saying it was committed in"a cold, calculated, and premeditated manner," court records said, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
